about
We've been the on-call.
mailmate is built by operators who ran mail for somebody else's clients for a decade. We know what 3am looks like when a sending IP gets blocklisted.
origin
Why we built this.
For most of the 2010s, we ran managed IT for SMBs. Email was always part of the deal — transactional email, delivery setup, DNS records, the occasional delivery emergency. It was work that had real operational cost and zero billing.
The infrastructure we used was fine. The business model wasn't. We were absorbing the cost, the on-call, and the liability for something every client depended on, and it showed up nowhere on an invoice.
mailmate is what we wish had existed: a relay platform priced for operators, not for senders. White-labeled so it fits inside your product. Multi-tenant so one bad client doesn't ruin everyone's day. And designed so you can actually charge for it.
team
The people behind it.
Alex Mercer
Co-founder, Engineering
Fifteen years running infrastructure for MSPs. Built internal tooling to manage multi-tenant SMTP before it had a name. Tired of fixing the same problems twice.
Claire Donovan
Co-founder, Product
Ops and delivery background. Ran the client-facing side of a managed services business for eight years. Knows exactly which conversations you'd rather not have at 9pm on a Friday.
Founders are placeholders — real team page coming with the public launch. If you're a senior engineer interested in the problem, reach out.
